MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 22 West Virginia University wrestling team hosts No. 16 Oklahoma at 1 p.m. at Hope Coliseum in Morgantown on Sunday.
The match will be streamed live on ESPN+. Tickets may be purchased here.
West Virginia (7-3, 2-1 Big 12) looks to bounce back following a close loss to No. 15 Pitt on Friday. After beginning Big 12 Conference play with a loss against then-No. 5 Oklahoma State in December, the Mountaineers rattled off back-to-back road wins last week against Arizona State and California Baptist.
West Virginia is looking for its second consecutive win against the Sooners after an upset win in Norman, Oklahoma, last season. WVU is 3-13 all-time against Oklahoma and has never beaten the Sooners in back-to-back matches since joining the Big 12.
Redshirt sophomore No. 4 Ty Watters (157) continues to set the tone for the team after he defeated Pitt's No. 15 Dylan Evans by decision. Watters is 6-0 against ranked opponents this season to lead the team.
Freshman No. 17 Gunner Andrick (133) is 16-6 on the year following a win against Pitt. Despite only wrestling in five duals so far this season, graduate student No. 9 Jett Strickenberger (125) continues to be one of the leaders for the Mountaineers. He is 12-3 overall, including 4-3 against ranked opponents this year.
Redshirt junior No. 21 Brody Conley (174) is arguably having the best season of his college career at 16-2 overall this season. With a win against the Panthers, Conley remains undefeated in duals (8-0) and leads the team with four wins by fall.
