
No. 21 West Virginia Battles California Baptist on the Road

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 21 West Virginia University wrestling team takes on the California Baptist Lancers at the Mt. SAC Gym on the campus of Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California, at 5 p.m. on Sunday.

West Virginia (6-2, 1-1 Big 12) returned to action for the first time in 2026 on Jan. 9, earning its first Big 12 Conference win of the season against Arizona State.
Redshirt freshman TJ Langley (149) earned the biggest win of the evening, as he pinned ASU's Daniel Miranda. This was the difference-maker for the Mountaineers as they narrowly defeated the Sun Devils, 20-19.
Redshirt junior Brody Conley returned to dual action for the first time since November against Arizona State. He earned a win by decision in the 174-pound bout over Cael Valencia.
Freshman Gunner Andrick, redshirt sophomore Louie Gill, Conley and Langley each have 14 wins this season to lead the team. Gill and Langley lead the Mountaineers with four wins by fall.
This is just the second all-time meeting between West Virginia and California Baptist. The two programs met last season at Oak Glen High School in New Cumberland, West Virginia. The Mountaineers, then ranked No. 18 in the country, lost to the Lancer, 18-15.
