
West Virginia Loses to Colorado in Final Home Match

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's tennis team lost to Colorado, 4-1, on Sunday at Summit Tennis Academy in Morgantown.
West Virginia (7-16, 1-11 Big 12) battled with Colorado in doubles play as the pairing of senior Mille Haagensen and graduate student Julie Bousseau faced a top-60 pairing in the No. 1 seed match. The pair narrowly lost, 6-4.

Colorado locked up the doubles point as it won in the No. 3 spot.
In singles play, senior Michaela Kucharova picked up an impressive win in the No. 3 seed match. She defeated Colorado's Ema Bubalo, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2. Kucharova was the lone Mountaineer to win in singles play.
After winning in the No. 1 seed and No. 2 seed matches, Colorado had the opportunity to clinch the match in the No. 4 spot. Freshman Lyla Byers won the first set, 7-6 (5). Despite a strong effort, Byers lost the next two sets as Colorado clinched the match.
