
No. 20 West Virginia Faces Utah Valley to Begin Final Road Swing

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 20 West Virginia University wrestling team begins its final road trip of the regular season with a match against Utah Valley at Layton High School in Layton, Utah, on Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET.

The match will be livestreamed by FloWrestling.
West Virginia (8-6, 2-5 Big 12) is coming off its most difficult stretch of the season as it faced six consecutive ranked opponents. In that span, the Mountaineers went 1-5.
Most recently, WVU lost to No. 5 Northern Iowa on Feb. 2, at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown.
Fifth-year No. 3 Peyton Hall and senior No. 10 Jett Strickenberger continue to lead West Virginia on the mat as they near the end of the regular season. Hall remains undefeated this year at 24-0 and is only four wins away from tying Greg Jones for the most all-time wins at WVU.
Hall will face his highest-ranked opponent of the season in Utah Valley's No. 4 Terrell Barraclough. Hall is 8-0 on the year with his highest-ranked win coming against Oklahoma State's No. 6 Cameron Amine on Jan. 19.
Strickenberger has won six straight matches, defeating five ranked opponents during that stretch. In that time, Strickenberger went from unranked in the 125-pound weight class by FloWrestling to No. 10.
