Andrick Named Student-Athlete of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Freshman Gunner Andrick of the West Virginia University wrestling team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
The Mountaineers opened the match with No. 25 Andrick squaring off against No. 11 Ronnie Ramirez at 133 pounds. After a scoreless first period, Andrick recorded an escape in the second to take a 1-0 lead heading into the final period.
Ramirez answered with an escape to tie the bout, but Andrick responded with a decisive takedown late in the match to secure a 4-2 victory. The win marked Andrick's third victory over a ranked opponent this season.
