MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will host the WVU Invitational on Nov. 20-22, at The Peak Health Aquatic Center at Mylan Park in Morgantown.
Prelims will begin at 10 a.m. each day. Finals will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
This is the first action for the Mountaineers since they swept Loyola (Md.) in a dual meet on Nov. 2. Throughout the year, multiple newcomers to the team have made significant contributions as the men's team is 2-0 and the women's team is 2-1.
Freshman Jake Salcedo has posted a top-10 time in the men's 1000-yard freestyle and has won the event at both dual meets this season for the men's team. Sophomore Szymon Mieczkowski has also been impressive this season, posting the sixth-fastest time in program history in the men's 200-yard backstroke (1:44.84) against Loyola (Md.).
On the women's side, freshman Macey Larson continues to shine as she swam the fourth-fastest time in program history in the women's 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.80) against Loyola (Md.).
In the diving well, senior Abigail Sullivan paces the women's team as she won on 1-meter and 3-meter against Loyola (Md.). Auburn transfer, sophomore David Hatt, has led the men's team, placing in the top two in multiple events this season.
