
Watters Wins in Return at NWCA All-Star Classic

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Redshirt sophomore Ty Watters of the West Virginia University wrestling team defeated Stanford's Daniel Cardenas in the 157-pound match at the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) All-Star Classic on Saturday.
Watters defeated Cardenas in overtime by decision, 7-2, as the match took place at Jersey Mike's Arena in Piscataway, New Jersey. Watters became the first Mountaineer to win at the All-Star Classic since Greg Jones won his match in 2005.
West Virginia officially begins the season at the Southeast Open at the Cregger Center in Salem, Virginia, on Sunday.
