Javon Small has been named the Big 12 Conference Player of the Week, the NCAA March Madness Player of the Week and the Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 6.
Small, a native of South Bend, Indiana, averaged a double-double for the week with wins at No. 7 Kansas and at home vs. Oklahoma State. He averaged 18.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.
Small had 13 points, 11 rebounds at Kansas, including the game-winning free throw with 1.8 seconds left. He scored 24 points to go with 11 rebounds against Oklahoma State. Small continues to lead the Big 12 Conference in scoring at 19.5 points per game.
It's the second Big 12 weekly award for Small this season. He was named co-Player of the Week on Dec. 3. Also on Dec. 3, Small was named the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week by the USBWA.
The Mountaineers broke into the AP Top 25 this week at No. 21. It's the first time WVU has appeared in the weekly poll since a No. 24 ranking on Dec. 26, 2022.
