MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior
Jett Strickenberger from the No. 20 West Virginia University wrestling team has been named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week as announced by the conference on Thursday.
Strickenberger has won four consecutive matches against ranked opponents. Most recently, he defeated Oklahoma's No. 23 Antonio Lorenzo by major decision, 11-2, and Oklahoma State's No. 4 Troy Spratley by fall.
West Virginia is 8-4 overall this season and 2-3 in the Big 12. The Mountaineers return to action against No. 23 Missouri on Sunday, Jan. 26, at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, Missouri. The match will begin at 1 p.m. ET on UFC Fight Pass.
