
Mountaineers Ready to Host Oklahoma State

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University baseball team is back home at Kendrick Family Ballpark, March 29-31, to take on Oklahoma State. First pitch on Friday is set for 6:30 p.m., Saturday for 4 p.m. and Sunday for 1 p.m.
All three games will be available to stream on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ as well as available to listen to on the Mountaineer Sports Network on all radio affiliates as well as The Varsity Network, the WVU Gameday App, and WVUSports.com. Live stats will also be available on WVUSports.com.
West Virginia enters the weekend with a 15-10 record after defeating Akron, 6-2, on Tuesday. Five different Mountaineers had multiple hits while freshman Aaron Jamison had a triple and stole two bases, including a straight steal of home.
In Big 12 action, the Mountaineers are 4-2 with series wins over BYU and No. 17 Oklahoma.
Senior Reed Chumley leads WVU with a .348 batting average and is tied for the team lead in home runs with junior Grant Hussey with five. Chumley, sophomore Sam White and sophomore Benjamin Lumsden have all driven in 16 runs to lead the squad.
On the mound, redshirt-sophomore David Hagaman has a 3.37 ERA while junior Aidan Major has a 3.97 ERA to lead qualified pitchers for WVU. Major (40) and Hagaman (36) are also both in the top 10 in the Big 12 in strikeouts.
Led by head coach Josh Holliday in his 12th year, Oklahoma State is 16-9 in 2024. The Cowboys have one of the top pitching staffs in the country as they have a team ERA of 3.58, ninth-best in the country.
Brian Holiday has a 1.87 ERA and 51 strikeouts to lead the team. Aidan Meola has a team-best .346 batting average while Colin Brueggemann has five home runs to lead the squad.
