MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 17 West Virginia University wrestling team (9-3, 2-3 Big 12) begins its final road trip of the regular season by challenging No. 4 Iowa State in Ames, Iowa, on Friday, Feb. 2, at 8 p.m. ET.
"It's very similar to the Missouri matchup," sixth-year head coach
Tim Flynn said. "You have a team where every kid at every weight class is ranked, so it's going to be another big challenge."

West Virginia meets Iowa State (10-2, 3-1 Big 12) for the 23rd time in program history and 11th in Ames, Iowa. ISU currently holds a 20-2 advantage in the all-time series, including a 20-13 road win last season in Morgantown. Redshirt sophomores
Davin Rhoads and
Jordan Titus each scored victories over two ranked opponents to push the Mountaineers to a 10-0 lead through the first three bouts. Rhoads recorded a 6-2 decision, before Titus claimed a 11-3 major decision at 141 pounds over now No. 10 Casey Swiderski, who moved up this season to 149.
WVU's last win over the Cyclones came in 2017, when the Mountaineers sealed five of the final seven bouts to escape with a 22-20 win after falling behind 9-0 out of the gate.
The Cyclones are led by seventh-year head coach Kevin Dresser, who has guided the program to a 68-26 record during his tenure. Dresser spent 11 seasons as the head coach at Virginia Tech (160-51) prior to taking over Iowa State's program in 2017.
