MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia wrestling team is on the road to compete in the Knockout Christmas Classic at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida, on Saturday, Dec. 21.
The Mountaineers will face North Dakota State at 1 p.m. ET, Wisconsin at 3 p.m. and Campbell at 5 p.m. Live stats will be available through Trackwrestling.
"The guys are really excited to compete this weekend," head coach Tim Flynn said. "We didn't compete the way we wanted to our last time out. It's nice to see teams we normally do not wrestle."
West Virginia meets North Dakota State for the first time since 2022. The Mountaineers are 2-1 all-time against the Bison. This will also be WVU's first meeting against Wisconsin since 2001 and the first meeting against Campbell since 2017.
The Mountaineers have never defeated Wisconsin (0-3) and are 1-4 all-time against Campbell.
West Virginia began Big 12 Conference play with a loss to California Baptist, 15-18, on Dec. 15. Fifth-year Peyton Hall earned another win, bringing his season total to 14.
Six Mountaineers are ranked in the FloWrestling Division I Wrestling rankings and the team is ranked in the latest edition of the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division I Wrestling Coaches Poll at No. 22.
Hall (165) and Ty Watters (149) lead the way for West Virginia as both are ranked No. 3 in their respective weight classes. Jordan Titus (141) is ranked No. 18, Brody Conley (174) is ranked No. 29, Dennis Robin (184) is No. 26 and Austin Cooley (197) is No. 31.
