MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University women's soccer coach
Nikki Izzo-Brown has announced the addition of midfielder Maya Leoni to the 2025 spring roster.
A native of Miami, Florida, Leoni will arrive in Morgantown after spending two seasons at UCLA and will join the Mountaineers as a junior.
While at UCLA, Leoni appeared in seven career matches across her two seasons, including five games as a sophomore in 2024. She made her collegiate debut for the Bruins against Long Beach State in 2023, logging 20 minutes of action.
Prior to her time in Los Angeles, Leoni was a member of the Colombian U-17 National Team for a training camp in September 2023, as well as the U-20 squad in October 2023 for a pair of friendlies against Mexico. She also trained with the United States U-20 National Team at its pre-Concacaf camp in 2022.
Leoni played club soccer for Florida United in Miami. She also earned honorable mention honors from the Miami Herald while playing high school soccer at Miami Country Day School.
The daughter of Todd and AJ, Leoni plans to major in general business at WVU.
