
West Virginia Set to Host Martha Thorn Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team is set to host the Martha Thorn Invitational from Oct. 4-6, at the Mountaineer Tennis Courts in Morgantown.
The invitational will be the only home competition for the Mountaineers in the fall. The teams competing in the invitational include Duquesne, Louisville, Maryland, Penn State and Western Michigan.
During the fall slate, the Mountaineers have competed in two events. Senior Mille Haagensen was dominant at the Bedford Cup in College Park, Maryland, winning the singles title. Freshman Laura Villanueva Morillo performed well at Thunder in the Mountains in Charleston, West Virginia, advancing to the final before falling to Marshall's Emma Vanderheyden.
Senior Michaela Kucharova has earned two singles wins throughout the fall campaign, and redshirt junior Maja Dodik has totaled three singles victories.
Matches will begin at 10 a.m. each day during the invitational. Final results will be available at WVUSports.com.
