HOUSTON, Texas (Oct. 24, 2024) – The West Virginia University women's soccer team prepares to cap the regular season on the road at Houston on Friday, Oct. 25. Kickoff at UH's Carl Lewis International Complex in Houston, Texas, is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.

Friday's matchup marks just the second meeting all-time between West Virginia and Houston. The two teams met for the first time in 2023 in the Cougars' inaugural season in the Big 12 Conference. Houston earned a 2-1 win over the Mountaineers last season. UH scored first in the match and although
Taylor White found an equalizer just two minutes later, the Cougars scored another goal to tally the win.
Of note, Friday's contest marks the second straight season the two teams have met in Houston.
Last time out, West Virginia recorded a 2-0 win over Colorado on Senior Day at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in Morgantown on Oct. 20. Ajanae Respass is pacing the WVU offense this season with six goals and 16 points, while McCarthy leads the team with five assists. White is second on the squad in goals with five this year.
Jaime Frias is in his third season as the head coach at Houston. The Cougars are 4-11-1 so far this season, including 1-9 in Big 12 play. They are coming off a 3-0 loss at BYU on Oct. 21. Juliet Moore leads the team with five goals and 10 points this season. Olivia Dietrich and Maggie Manning have split time between the posts for Houston this season, putting together a combined 0.734 save percentage and notching 94 total saves.
