A 2022 United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region Third Team honoree, Massey goalkeeper of the year nod highlighted West Virginia's All-Big 12 accolades last season. With the honor, she became WVU's first goalkeeper of the year in program history.
BYU and TCU both garnered three Preseason All-Big 12 selections each, while Texas earned two selections. UCF and Texas Tech joined the Mountaineers with one selection. Massey is accompanied by six 2022 All-Big 12 Team honorees on this year's preseason team.
The Preseason All-Big 12 Team was selected by the league's 14 head coaches, and they were not allowed to vote for their own players.
