MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Fifth-year senior defender Jordan Brewster of the West Virginia University women's soccer team has been named to the 2022 Preseason All-Big 12 Soccer Team, as announced by the conference on Monday.
A native of North Canton, Ohio, Brewster was West Virginia's lone selection on this year's preseason team, earning her fourth consecutive honor after being named to the 2021 All-Big 12 First Team last season.
A 2021 United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American, Brewster started all 20 matches in 2021, playing all 1,922 minutes of total game action for West Virginia last fall. She helped the defense record 11 shutouts, including nine in the regular season, the most since 2017.
TCU led all Big 12 schools with four selections. Texas and Oklahoma State each had two honorees, while Baylor, Texas Tech and West Virginia had one selection apiece. All eleven individuals on the preseason team were 2021 All-Big 12 performers. The Preseason All-Big 12 Team was selected by the league's 10 head coaches, and they were not allowed to vote for their own players.
