
West Virginia Enters Big 12 Championship as No. 6 Seed

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University baseball team has earned the No. 6 seed at the 2022 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship.
The Mountaineers' postseason slate begins against No. 3-seeded Oklahoma on Wednesday, May 25, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. First pitch is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
The winner of the opening-day matchup moves on to play the winner of the No. 2 Texas Tech-No. 7 Kansas State game on Thursday, May 26, at 8:30 p.m., while the two losing teams will meet in an elimination game on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
West Virginia finished 33-20 in regular-season play this spring, including 14-10 inside the conference, good for the most Big 12 victories in one season in program history. The Mountaineers have won multiple games at the Big 12 Championship in six of the last eight tournaments, including five in a row. The squad also has advanced to the semifinals four times since 2016, with two championship-game appearances (2016, 2019).
The Big 12 Championship heads to the home of the Texas Rangers for the first time in 2022. Tickets remain available for the event through TexasRangers.com/Big12, and all-session tickets for adults are $130 before fees. New in 2022 is a weekend pass, priced at $84 for adults, and single-day tickets run $30 for adults and $20 for youth and students.
