Mountaineers Set for Big 12 Play in Texas

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team is set for its first Big 12 road swing of the season, as the Mountaineers travel to Texas for a pair of matches against TCU and No. 34 Texas Tech.
WVU (7-9, 0-2 Big 12) begins its two-match road trip on Friday, March 25, against the Horned Frogs in Fort Worth. First serve from the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET.
The Mountaineers wrap up their weekend in the Lone Star State, on Sunday, March 27, with a matchup against the Red Raiders. Sunday's match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. ET, at the McLeod Tennis Center.
"We are looking forward to competing on the road this weekend against TCU and Texas Tech," Mountaineer coach Miha Lisac said. "Every week of Big 12 matches is an opportunity for our team to accomplish program firsts and put the rest of the conference on notice."
West Virginia and TCU (9-8, 1-3 Big 12) will meet on the tennis court for the 10th time on Friday. The Mountaineers are seeking their first win against the Horned Frogs in program history. TCU's lone conference win this season came over No. 53 Kansas State, on March 20. The last time WVU and TCU met, West Virginia fell, 5-2, at the Summit Tennis Academy in Morgantown.
The Mountaineers and the Red Raiders (9-7, 1-3 Big 12) are set to meet for the ninth time on Sunday. WVU is seeking its first win against Texas Tech this weekend. The last time these two programs met, TTU swept West Virginia, 7-0, at the Mountaineer Tennis Courts in Morgantown.
