Sevel Joins WVU Tennis Staff as Assistant Coach

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Thomas Sevel joined the West Virginia University tennis program as an assistant coach.
Sevel most recently served as the head coach of the Louisiana men's tennis program after being promoted to the position in August 2024. Prior to leading the Ragin' Cajuns, he spent two seasons as an assistant coach, where he assisted with recruiting, player development, practice planning and the day-to-day operations of the program.
Before his time at Louisiana, Sevel was a tennis professional at Claremont Country Club in Oakland, California. He also served as a volunteer assistant coach with the Harvard women's tennis program, helping coach one of the nation's top Ivy League teams while assisting with the recruitment of top junior prospects.
Sevel began his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant at Temple from 2019-21, where he assisted with recruiting, player development and practice organization. He also coached junior players with Paris West Tennis Academy and Odyssey Tennis Academy in France, as well as Legacy Youth Tennis in Philadelphia.
Sevel earned a Master of Science in sport business in 2021 and a Bachelor of Science in business management in 2019 from Temple University.
