MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Sophomore quarterback
Garrett Greene and punter
Oliver Straw have been honored by the Big 12 Conference for their performances in West Virginia's 23-20, come-from-behind victory over Oklahoma this past Saturday.
Greene was named the Big 12's Offensive Player of the Week while Straw picked up the conference's special teams honor – the second time he's captured the weekly award.
Greene came on in relief of starting quarterback
JT Daniels to account for 257 yards of total offense and three touchdowns on the day. He ran for 119 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries and also completed an 8-yard touchdown pass to
Bryce Ford-Wheaton. His passing totals showed 12 completions in 22 attempts for 138 yards.
It was the second 100-yard rushing performance of his career, which included a game-long 33-yard gainer in the second quarter. He also had runs for 31 and 28 yards in the second half.

Straw shares this week's honor with Texas Tech placekicker Trey Wolff after averaging 43.8 yards per punt with a long of 51 yards. He also placed four punts inside Oklahoma's 20 and two inside the 10. For the season, the freshman is averaging 42.3 yards per punt and has placed 16 kicks inside opponents' 20-yard line.
They join a WVU Big 12 honor roll list that also includes running back
Tony Mathis Jr. and
Casey Legg (Baylor) and CJ Donaldson (Pitt).
West Virginia plays host to 19
th-ranked Kansas State this Saturday at Milan Puskar Stadium in a game that will kick off at 2 p.m. and will be televised on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
