Lyons Announces Department Restructuring

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University Director of Athletics Shane Lyons has announced a restructuring of his department with the following employees receiving title changes, promotions and additional duties.
"One thing is very clear to me, we have great people working in our department," Lyons said. "This restructuring will help us operate more effectively and efficiently to better serve our student-athletes, coaches and staff. I look forward to continuing our momentum that we have going in our department as we continue to climb."
Lyons' restructuring and title changes are as follows:
Keli Zinn – WVU's Deputy Athletics Director has now added the titles of Chief Operating Officer and Senior Woman Administrator. Continuing to oversee the daily operations of the department, football, personnel services and serve as the primary contact with Stewart Hall, Zinn will add conference governance and oversight of women's tennis to her position.
Steve Uryasz received a title change to Deputy Athletics Director with secondary oversight of the Mountaineer Athletic Club and sport administration for swimming and diving. He will continue to oversee men's basketball and golf and have secondary oversight of student-athlete development and strength and conditioning.
Simon Dover's new title is Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director/CFO, and he will continue in his role as chief financial officer with oversight of both soccer programs, Sodexo and the business office.
Matt Wells' new title is Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs with oversight of women's basketball, baseball, equipment, Learfield, marketing, ticket office and digital media.
Greg Featherston is now the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Affairs with oversight of sports medicine, athletic training, track and cross country, volleyball and wrestling along with secondary oversight of compliance.
April Messerly received a title change to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Capital Projects, Facilities and Event Management with oversight of all capital projects, IT services, facilities, gymnastics and rowing.
Brittney O'Dell is now the Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development and will lead oversight of academics, sports psychology and counseling services while serving as a liaison to student conduct.
Preston Wages is now the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and will direct the daily compliance operations.
Paige Diggs is the new Assistant Athletics Director for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. She will also serve as an administrator for Name, Image and Likeness and continue in her role as director of football's 5th Quarter Program.
Mike Montoro is now the Assistant Athletics Director for Football Communications and will continue to lead the daily communications efforts for Mountaineer football.
Leslie Nguyen is the new Assistant Athletics Director for Strategic Management and will direct all human resources for the department.
Kaitlin Sweeney's new title is Assistant Athletics Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports and will oversee the new Athletics Performance Center and Olympic Sports nutrition.
Stephanie White's new title is Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development and Enhancement. She will oversee the life skills programming for all student-athletes in addition to facilitating the Student-Athletes Advisory Council (SAAC) and managing the community outreach program.
The title changes and duties are effective immediately.
