MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore Peyton Hall and redshirt sophomore Anthony Carman claimed pins to lead the West Virginia University wrestling team over the Glenville State Pioneers, 40-3, inside the WVU Coliseum on Friday night.

"We were a little more aggressive and we had a lot more energy," fourth-year coach Tim Flynn said. "You have to wrestle the same way whether you are wrestling the No. 1-ranked team or wrestling a local Division II team. This is a solid team (Glenville State) and I think they are going to give a lot of teams trouble."

With the Mountaineers (2-3) holding a 21-0 advantage midway through the dual, Hall didn't waste any time in the 165-pound bout. The Chester, West Virginia, native pinned senior Hunter Jones in 2:13 for his third pin of the season. The sophomore took Jones down in the first minute of the match, hooked his arms, and went to work on flipping him over to capture the fall.

Two matches later, Carman gained his second pin of the season against No. 14 Cole Houser at 184 pounds. The redshirt sophomore fell behind 4-1 early in the first period but found an opening to position Houser on his back and cover him for the fall in 1:44.

Sophomore Colton Drousias opened the meet with a total of five takedowns toward a 13-2 major decision at 125 pounds, while freshman Michael Dolan added a team-high seven takedowns and a pair of two-point near falls to claim a 20-5 technical fall in his dual debut at 133 pounds. No. 23/26 Michael Wolfgram registered a 13-3 major decision over GSC's Gavin Shamblin to conclude the night at heavyweight.
 
In addition, senior Caleb Rea (141), redshirt sophomore Jeffrey Boyd (149), redshirt junior Alex Hornfeck (157), and junior Scott Joll (174) combined for 15 points in the victory. 

Next up, WVU travels to Lexington, Virginia, to battle the VMI Keydets on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 2 p.m. ET
