Mountaineer Insider Podcast - Randy Mazey
March 20, 2020 10:22 AM | Baseball, Mountaineer Insider Podcast
Our Dan Zangrilli visits with West Virginia University baseball coach Randy Mazey, who details the events that transpired last week leading up to the cancellation of the 2020 college baseball season.
It was the first cancellation of a college baseball campaign at West Virginia University since World War II claimed three seasons in the 1940s.
West Virginia this year was off to an outstanding 11-5 start following last Wednesday's 7-0 victory over Liberty, and was gearing up for its Big 12 opener at Texas Tech last weekend.
The Mountaineers were equipped with enough pitching to be a major factor in this year's Big 12 race as well as a potential return trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Mazey also looks ahead to what could possibly transpire in the coming months once the COVID-19 virus is contained and everyday life resumes.
It's a fascinating 30 minutes well worth your time!
