Adams Earns Second Seed at NCAA Championships

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Redshirt sophomore Noah Adams of the West Virginia University wrestling team earned a No. 2-seed at 197-pounds in the 2020 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, as announced by the NCAA on Wednesday evening.
Adams will face No. 31 Cordell Eaton of North Dakota State in the first round of the tournament. The pair last met four days ago, with Adams earning a hard-fought, 2-1, decision over Eaton in the Big 12 Championship quarterfinal on March 7. Adams is 3-0 all-time against Eaton after recording a pair of decisions over him in 2018.
The Coal City, West Virginia, native is 32-0 this season and became the second wrestler in program history to win a Big 12 Championship, with a 5-1 decision over South Dakota State's Tanner Sloan on March 8. Adams faced 11 wrestlers that will compete in the 197-pound bracket this season and earned a 13-0 record against those opponents.
The NCAA Wrestling Championships will be held from March 19-21, at U.S. Bank Stadium, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The first round of the tournament is scheduled to begin at noon ET and will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
