Life as a Mountaineer - Stefany Ferrer-Vanginkel
September 08, 2019 08:04 AM | Women's Soccer
Barcelona's Stefany Ferrer-Vanginkel says soccer has already opened up many doors so far in her young life.
"Soccer has always been a big part of my life from Brazil to Spain," she says. "It's been like an outlet that I've used to make friends, learn the language and then from Spain to the U.S. soccer has been everything.
"It gave me the opportunity to have a scholarship, play for a Division I college and get a degree. It's just amazing soccer can bring you so much in life," she adds.
The junior helped West Virginia to a 1-1 draw against eighth-ranked Penn State last Friday night and the 22nd-ranked Mountaineers have two more stiff challenges coming up this week against Stony Brook on Thursday night and then at 15th-ranked Georgetown on Sunday afternoon in Washington, D.C.
