James Named Newcomer of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Redshirt freshman wide receiver Sam James been named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week following his performance in a 44-27 victory against NC State on Saturday.
James finished the contest with nine receptions for 155 yards and one touchdown. He also had three kickoff returns for 50 yards and one rush for seven yards. James leads the Mountaineers this season in receptions (20) and receiving yards (222).
West Virginia returns to action on Saturday at Kansas. The game is scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. ET kickoff, and will be broadcast on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
