Mountaineers Rank as High as No. 12

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's soccer team ranks as high as No. 12 in this week's national women's soccer rankings.
The Mountaineers (1-1-0) sit at No. 12 in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's National Poll, while falling one spot to No. 19 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women's Division I Top 25.
Florida State (1-0) ranks No. 1, respectively, in all three polls. The top five teams remained the same in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, while Virginia (2-0) moved up three spots to No. 6. Penn State fell one spot to No. 7, while South Carolina (2-0), Vanderbilt (2-0) and Duke (1-1) round out the top 10.
The No. 11 Mountaineers (1-1-0) continue the 2019 campaign with a home match against High Point (0-2) on Friday, Aug. 30, before heading to Charlottesville, Virginia, to take on No. 6 Virginia (2-0) on Sunday, Sept. 1.
Friday's match is Barks and Brews Night at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium with first kick set for 7 p.m. ET. Fans can bring their dog to the stadium with a completed attendance waiver. The first 100 dogs in attendance will receive a WVU Women's Soccer tennis ball shaped in the form of a dog bone. Additionally, select beverages will be half off from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday's match is slated to begin at 2 p.m. at Klockner Stadium and will be streamed live on the ACC Network.
