MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University football coach Neal Brown previews Saturday's season opening game against FCS power James Madison at Milan Puskar Stadium.
The Dukes were the preseason pick by The Sporting News to win the FCS national championship this year under first-year coach Curt Cignetti, a WVU graduate.
Cignetti directed a once down-trodden Elon program to back-to-back FCS playoff appearances before replacing Mike Houston at James Madison following last season. Cignetti has 19 starters returning from a team that won nine games and was knocked out of the FCS playoffs by Colgate in the round of 16.
James Madison will be making its second-ever appearance at Milan Puskar Stadium, the last coming 15 years ago in 2004 when the Dukes lost 45-10. Incidentally, JMU won the I-AA national championship that season.
There are no tickets available for Saturday's game through the Mountaineer Ticket Office, but a limited number of tickets can still be purchased on StubHub, the official fan-to-fan market place of WVU athletics.
