MORGANTOWN, W.Va.– West Virginia Football Coach Neal Brown has announced that Mountaineer sophomore receiver Sean Ryan has been granted immediate eligibility for the 2019 football season as approved today by the NCAA.
Ryan, a transfer from Temple, appeared in six games for the Owls last year where he caught 12 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown.
He was one of just five true freshmen to play for Temple in 2018. Ryan is a product of Erasmus Hall High in Brooklyn, New York.
West Virginia opens the 2019 season a week from Saturday when it faces James Madison on Saturday, Aug. 31, at Milan Puskar Stadium in a 2 p.m. kickoff that will be televised locally on AT&T Sportsnet.
The game has already been announced a sellout. A limited number of tickets are available on StubHub, the official fan-to-fan market place of WVU athletics.
