
Men’s Soccer Promotional Schedule Revealed

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Six giveaways, three Happy Hours, two Dollar Days and more highlight the West Virginia University men's soccer team's 2019 promotional schedule.
The reigning Mid-American Conference regular-season champion Mountaineers will play nine matches at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium this fall, three of which against conference foes. Fans can be a part of several themed matches throughout the season, including multiple youth days.
A complete list of all the happenings at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium this season can be found at WVUsports.com/promotions. Eight of WVU's nine home matches are slated to begin at 7 p.m. ET, while Sunday, Oct. 13's matchup against MAC foe Western Michigan is set for a 1 p.m. start time.
The Mountaineers' home opener is set for Saturday, Sept. 7, against Wright State. Along with picking up the 2019 men's soccer team poster, the first 300 fans will receive a rally towel.
WVU hosts Charlotte on Tuesday, Sept. 10, marking the first of two Dollar Days. Tickets and select concessions (16-ounce drink, small pepperoni roll, small popcorn) will be available for $1. Additionally, the squad will celebrate Club Sports Night, while the Mountaineer Maniacs will give away its 20th anniversary shirt to members.
Friday Night Futbol returns to Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium on Friday, Sept. 13, against Coastal Carolina, where fans can enjoy Happy Hour, from 6-7 p.m. The contest also falls on the Mountaineer Athletic Club's Donor Weekend, with MAC members able to purchase discounted tickets.
Saturday, Sept. 21's fixture against Dayton marks Mountaineer Kids Club Day, with special appearances by Mr. Twister, the face-painting and balloon animal artist, and Musket, the Mountaineer Kids Clubs mascot. Kids also will get an opportunity to shoot postgame penalty kicks on the field.
WVU will celebrate the Diversity Cup and International Student Appreciation on Saturday, Sept. 28, against Penn. Additionally, the first 250 fans will receive a stadium horn to help cheer on the Mountaineers.
The season's second Friday Night Futbol commences on Friday, Oct. 4, against San Diego. Along with Happy Hour, the first 250 fans will receive maracas and can enjoy walking tacos for $2.50 in celebration of National Taco Day. The Maniacs also will give away WVU soccer scarves at the contest.
A free, postgame clinic for youth soccer players, as well as a postgame autograph session, will be featured on Sunday, Oct. 13, against Western Michigan. All area youth will receive free admission to the matchup, while Mr. Twister and Musket will make their return to DDSS to watch WVU in its MAC clash.
On Friday, Oct. 18, fans can enjoy the third and final Friday Night Futbol of the season, with Happy Hour again running from 6-7 p.m., prior to WVU's conference match against Northern Illinois. It's also Most Valuable Professor Night, where Mountaineers will honor their favorite professors from their academic careers.
The regular-season finale is set for Thursday, Nov. 7, against MAC foe Akron. Along with Dollar Day, the Maniacs will give away WVU windbreakers for the first time ever. The Mountaineers also will honor its seven seniors prior to kickoff as part of Senior Night.
Fans can purchase tickets to any of the nine men's home matches by visiting WVUGAME.com or calling 1-800-WVU-GAME. All tickets are general admission.
When purchasing in advance online, tickets are $5 each, while tickets are $3 for groups of 10 or more. At the Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium ticket window, tickets will be $7 for adults, $5 for youth and seniors and $3 for groups. The discounted online pricing will be available until kickoff on game day. Fans are encouraged to order tickets in advance online at WVUGAME.com to avoid lines at stadium gates on game day.

WVU soccer scarf ticket packages also are on sale. The scarf ticket package includes a scarf and 10 tickets to be used at any men's or women's soccer match during the 2019 regular season. This year's winning scarf design says, "Mountaineer Soccer" on one side, with "Almost Heaven" on the other. The soccer teams' Flying WV shield also is on both sides of the scarf.
