MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior quarterback Jarret Doege has been named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week following his performance at Kansas State on Saturday.
This is his first time being named for the award and WVU's third as Sam James earned the honor twice this season, including last week.
In his second game at West Virginia and first start, Doege completed 20-of-30 passes for 234 yards and three touchdowns in the Mountaineers' victory at No. 24 Kansas State. His three touchdown passes (19, 15, 50) tied a WVU season high, as he completed 67 percent of his attempts for the game.
This week's Oklahoma State game, presented by Smart529, will be Senior Day at Milan Puskar Stadium, and tickets do remain for the final Big 12 Conference home game of the season. For tickets, visit WVUGAME.com or call 1-800-WVU GAME.
