The West Virginia University women's soccer team looks to bounce back from its first conference loss of the season, as it faces Big 12 leader Texas on Sunday, Oct. 5. Kickoff at Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field in Austin, Texas, is set for 2 p.m. ET.

Sunday's match marks the first time the Mountaineers and Longhorns have met since WVU knocked off the then-No. 18 Longhorns, 1-0, on Nov. 2, 2018, in the Big 12 Tournament semifinal round.
West Virginia is 7-2-1 all-time against Longhorn and has outscored UT, 12-4, in the 10 meetings.
WVU enters the contest with a 6-4-1 record in 2019 after falling to Baylor, 4-2, on Thursday, Oct. 3. The result marked the first conference loss of the season and its first Big 12 road loss since 2017. After a scoreless first half, the two teams scored all six goals in the final 45 minutes. Rylee Foster earned a season-high eight saves in the match. The Mountaineers finished the contest with a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks, while the Bears edged WVU in shots, 17-10.

Texas is 8-4-0 this season and leads the Big 12 with a 3-0 in conference play. UT enters the match riding a four-match winning streak after topping TCU, 1-0, on Thursday.
Junior Haley Berg leads Texas in points (19) and assists (7) this season, while sophomore Julia Grosso paces the Longhorns with seven goals. Redshirt junior Nicole Curry is the projected starter between the posts for UT. She has a record of 7-1 and ranks No. 21 nationally and No. 1 in the Big 12 with six shutouts. She also leads the league in save percentage (.828).
Angela Kelly is in her eighth season as the head coach at Texas. She boasts a 242-136-39 overall record, with an 82-52-19 record in Texas. Kelly has led the Longhorns to two straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the Sweet 16 in 2017.
