Rylee Foster registered a career-high nine saves to help the West Virginia University women's soccer team to a hard-fought,1-1, draw against No. 23 Kansas at Rock Chalk Park on Thursday.
The result marked the squad's second draw of the season and moved WVU to 8-6-2 on the year with a 3-3-1 record in Big 12 play. The Mountaineers now hold a 7-1-1 overall record in the series with a 4-0-1 record in Lawrence.

Nikki Izzo-Brown said. "We wanted to get a result so getting that point in conference play was huge for us. I'm proud of the way our team battled throughout the match. We're going to take a lot of positives out of tonight and use that heading into Sunday."

Jordan Brewster found freshman forward
Enzi Broussard, with a low cross just inside the six-yard line. Broussard used a nice touch to put the ball inside the far post, giving WVU the 1-0 advantage.
The goal marked Broussard's second goal of the campaign, while Brewster was credited with her second dish of the season. The goal also ended a three-match shutout streak for the Jayhawks.
Following the goal, Kansas went on the attack, but the Mountaineer defense remained stout, holding KU scoreless at the break.
The Mountaineers led KU, 3-2, in shots on goal, while the Jayhawks held an 8-3 advantage in shots at the intermission.
Kansas continued to pressure the WVU defense in the second half, as the two teams battled until the Jayhawk's Ceri Holland broke through with the equalizer in the 84th minute.
The two sides finished the remaining six minutes of play without an additional goal to force overtime. The Jayhawks outshot WVU 10-0 and forced Foster into three saves through the final 45 minutes of regulation.
Sophomore forward
Alina Stahl earned WVU's lone chance in the first overtime period but was unable to find the net as the shot sailed wide right. Foster put another great performance together for the Mountaineers in the first overtime, earning three saves.
Foster added two more saves in the second overtime and Brewster picked up her first shot of the night, but neither team could find the golden goal before time expired as the contest was declared a tie.
Kansas finished the match with a 26-5 advantage in shots with an 11-3 edge in shots on net. Thursday's match marked the first time that WVU has given up at least 26 shots since Nov. 3, 1998, against Notre Dame.
