MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University women's soccer coach Nikki Izzo-Brown announced today the addition of transfer Jessica Lisi for the 2019 season.
Additionally, five players who signed with the Mountaineers in November have enrolled early: Enzi Broussard (Dallas, Texas), Yori Broussard (Dallas, Texas), Juliana Lynch (Baltimore, Maryland), Gabby Robinson (Springfield, Virginia) and Jillian Smalls (Ellicott City, Maryland).
"I'm so excited for Jess to join the Mountaineer family, not only because of her leadership potential but also because of what she brings to the field," Izzo-Brown said of Lisi. "She's going to plug in right away because of her hard work and focus. I know Jess, and the five players who enrolled early, will help WVU women's soccer continue its tradition of winning."
A three-year starter at Memphis, Lisi, a native of Woodbridge, Ontario, helped the Tigers claim the 2018 American Athletic Conference (AAC) Championship crown. The forward finished fourth on the team with 13 points (5 G, 3 A) and was named the AAC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 13.
A two-time All-AAC Second Team honoree (2016, 2017), Lisi was named to the 2016 All-Rookie Team. A psychology major, she was a member of the 2017 AAC All-Academic Team and the Tiger 3.0 Club and also was named to the Dean's List.
A staple within the Canadian Youth National Program, Lisi recently played with the Canadian Women's Soccer U-20 National Team at the 2018 CONCACAF U-20 Women's Championship.
Prior to joining the Tigers, Lisi played for the Woodbridge Strikers. A three-time Ontario Youth Soccer League Golden Boot honoree (2011, 2013, 2015), Lisi was named the 2015 League 1 Ontario Youth Player of the Year and to the League 1 Ontario All-Star Starting XI. She attended St. Elizabeth Catholic High.
