April 20, 2018 11:38 AM | Women's Soccer
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's soccer team kicks against Tennessee on Saturday, April 21, at noon, at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
Admission is free and open to the public.
The Mountaineers continue their 2018 spring slate following a 1-0-1 showing last weekend, drawing Pitt, 1-1, in Morgantown on April 13 before winning 3-1 at Virginia on April 15.
"We're looking forward to Tennessee coming in here and putting all sorts of pressure on us," Mountaineer coach Nikki Izzo-Brown said. "Our goal this spring season is to get better every day. We made adjustments after the Pitt and Virginia matches, and I'm sure Saturday's match will present more opportunities for us to grow and learn. We're giving everything to this spring season so we're best prepared for the fall season."
Most recently, WVU tallied a comeback victory over the Cavaliers, scoring three second-half goals for its first win of the spring season. Junior defender Bianca St. Georges netted the game-tying goal, and freshman forward Stefany Ferrer-vanGinkel notched the game-winner with less than four minutes remaining. Freshman midfielder Lois Joel iced the match in the 89th minute.
Sophomore Rylee Foster made four first-half saves at UVA.
Tennessee finished the 2017 season at 15-4-2.
