Wrestling Coach Tim Flynn Officially Introduced
April 18, 2018 03:27 PM | Wrestling
West Virginia University director of athletics Shane Lyons, calling Flynn a "home run hire," formally introduced Tim Flynn as the Mountaineers' ninth wrestling coach at a news conference at the WVU Coliseum Tuesday afternoon.
Flynn, who compiled a 223-95-5 record in 21 seasons at Edinboro University, said he's anxious to get started at West Virginia.
Flynn has coached three national champions and 38 All-Americans during his long tenure at Edinboro. He was a 13-time Pennsylvania Athletic Conference and seven-time Eastern Wrestling Coach of the Year.
Flynn was an All-American wrestler at Penn State.
West Virginia is coming off a 6-7 season in 2018 and has won just 27 of its 66 matches over the last four seasons competing in the Big 12 Conference.
Our Tony Caridi sat down with Flynn earlier today for an exclusive one-on-one interview.
