Mountaineers Open Spring Season

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's soccer team opens its 2018 spring season against Sky Blue FC on Saturday, March 10, at 1 p.m., at Sportika Sports in Manalapan, New Jersey.
A member of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the Mountaineers will compete against friendly faces Saturday afternoon, as Sky Blue FC's spring roster features WVU All-Americans Michaela Abam and Amandine Pierre-Louis.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for us to play against the best in the business and to really get a good picture of where we're at this spring," Mountaineer coach Nikki Izzo-Brown said. "Not only will we see where we need to improve, but we'll also get our first look at what each player is going to bring to this team in 2018."
The Mountaineers concluded the 2017 season with a 16-4-3 (7-1-1 Big 12) record and nationally ranked No. 10 after qualifying for their 18th straight NCAA Tournament. WVU advanced to the third round for the third straight season and the sixth time in program history.
