Mountaineers End Season Ranked No. 14

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's soccer team ranks No. 14 in the final 2018 United Soccer Coaches Poll.

The Mountaineers (15-4-4, 7-2) were nationally ranked seven weeks this season and entered the 2018 NCAA Tournament at No. 8, their highest position of the year.

National Champion Florida State (20-4-3) ranks No. 1, and national runner-up North Carolina (21-4-2) ranks No. 2. Stanford (21-1-2) sits at No. 3 and is followed by Georgetown (21-1-3) at No. 4 and UCLA (17-3-2) at No. 5.

USC (17-2-3) ranks No. 6, and Tennessee (16-3-3) ranks No. 7. Penn State (18-9-1) sits at No. 8, and Baylor (20-6) and Duke (16-4-2) round out the top 10.

The Mountaineers also rank No. 15 in the final TopDrawerSoccer.com Women's Division I Top 25.

WVU, the 2018 Big 12 Conference champion, capped its season with its 19th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the fifth-longest active streak nationally.
