Cajuste Named to All-America Team

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia senior offensive tackle Yodny Cajuste was named to the Football Writers' Association of America All-America Second Team, announced tonight by the organization.
Cajuste, the Big 12 Conference Co-Offensive Linemen of the Year, is WVU's 41st All-America selection since 2002 and 106th All-American in the program's history.
Cajuste was a three-year starter for the Mountaineers and saw action in 31 career games and started 30. He helped lead the Mountaineers to an 8-3 record this past year, and was nationally ranked the entire season.
A two-time All-Big 12 Conference selection (2018 – first team, 2017 – second team), Cajuste saw action on 708 snaps in 2018 and helped anchor an offense which averaged 520.4 yards per game, ranking No. 8 nationally. The Mountaineer offense passed for 358.1 yards per game, ranked No. 3 nationally in passing offense and scored 42.3 points per game, No. 9 in the nation. The offensive line allowed 5.3 tackles for loss per game, 36th-best nationally.
WVU finished with 500 or more yards of total offense in eight of 11 games in 2018 and passed for 300 or more yards in 10 games.
Cajuste is one of three Mountaineers who earned a spot on at least one nationally recognized All-America team. Junior linebacker David Long Jr. was named to the Walter Camp Football Foundation and Associated Press second-teams, and senior receiver David Sills V also was named to the Walter Camp Football Foundation's second team and the Associated Press' third team.
Preparations are underway for No. 15 West Virginia's Camping World Bowl meeting against 17th-ranked Syracuse in Orlando, Florida, on Friday, Dec. 28.
The game will kick off at 5:15 p.m. and will be televised nationally on ESPN.
