
Spavital Named Broyles Award Semifinalist

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University offensive coordinator Jake Spavital was named a semifinalist for the 2018 Broyles Award, signifying the nation's top assistant coach, as announced today by the Frank and Barbara Broyles Foundation.
From the list of 15, five finalists will be selected and invited to travel to Little Rock, Arkansas, where the 2018 Broyles Award winner will be announced on Tuesday, Dec. 4th at the Marriott Hotel.
Spavital is in his second year as the offensive coordinator and fourth year overall at West Virginia, helping guide the Mountaineers to an 8-2 overall record, a 6-2 mark in the Big 12 Conference and a national ranking of No. 12 in both major polls.
The 2018 WVU offense is ranked No. 4 nationally in team passing efficiency, No. 5 in passing offense, No. 9 in scoring offense, No. 10 in total offense and No. 14 in completion percentage.
