MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Freshman midfielder Lois Joel returns to campus today following a nine-day training camp in Portugal with the English Women's U19 National Team.
The team participated in a trio of friendlies throughout the week in preparation for the 2018 European Championship qualifiers. England opened with a 1-1 draw against Norway on Jan. 17 before defeating the Republic of Ireland, 3-1, on Jan. 19. The squad concluded the week with a 1-0 loss to Norway on Jan. 21.
A native of North Finchley, London, Joel was integral in the team's victory, scoring the squad's first goal in the first half. She earned the starting nod against Norway and the Republic of Ireland and entered the match late against Norway.
Joel played in 16 matches at WVU in 2017. She tallied her first career point with an assist in the Mountaineers' 3-0 win over Richmond on Sept. 10, at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
