Smith, Moisey Hold Steady in National Top-20 Polls

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Following a week off from competition, redshirt senior Jacob A. Smith and redshirt junior Zeke Moisey remain ranked inside the top 20 of their respective weight classes, as announced by several publications on Tuesday.
Smith is ranked nationally in the top 15 by a trio of media outlets at 197 pounds. The Charleston, West Virginia, native is ranked No. 12 by FloWrestling, appears at No. 13 according to Intermat and checks in at No. 15 via The Open Mat. Smith is on a two-match win streak in Big 12 play, holding a 6-3 overall record at 197 pounds thus far.
Moisey appears at No. 13 via The Open Mat at 125 pounds. The Northampton, Pennsylvania, native also checks in at No. 14 via Intermat's Top-20 Poll and No. 16 via FloWrestling. Moisey has posted a team-best 15-6 overall record at 125 pounds thus far, pacing the Mountaineers with 19 match points, 16 takedowns and four pins on the year.
Of note, West Virginia (3-3, 2-1 Big 12) received two votes in this week's USA Today/NWCA Coaches Top-25 Poll.
The Mountaineers will embark on their first Big 12 road trip of the season this week, as they take on No. 5 Oklahoma State on Friday, Jan. 19 and Iowa State on Sunday, Jan. 21. Friday's 8 p.m. ET match with the Cowboys will be streamed live on FloWrestling.
