Men’s Soccer Promotional Schedule Set

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Featuring giveaways, dollar days and theme nights, an exciting promotional schedule is planned for the West Virginia University men's soccer team's 10-match home schedule this fall at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
Beginning this Friday, WVU's home schedule is highlighted by three dollar days, giveaway items that include t-shirts, soccer balls and texting gloves and theme days such as Military and First Responder Night, Youth Soccer Day and Social Media Night.
The home slate begins on Friday, Sept. 1, against Wright State at 7 p.m. ET. It is the first dollar day, where tickets and select concession items will be available for $1. Additionally, all fans in attendance will receive a free 2017 schedule poster, and sunglasses will be given away to the first 250 fans.
West Virginia's opening homestand continues on Monday, Sept. 4, at 3:30 p.m., against Monmouth. It is a doubleheader, and tickets are available for just $5 to watch the WVU men followed by the WVU women's team at 6 p.m.
The Mountaineers' matchup against UCF on Saturday, Sept. 9, will be free for all fans, courtesy of WVU Medicine. The 7 p.m. game comes after the WVU football team hosts East Carolina at noon.
Youth Soccer Day is set for Saturday, Sept. 23, against Dayton. All youth who wear their youth soccer jersey will receive free admission, and the first 500 fans in attendance will receive a foam WVU soccer ball. Before the match, members of the men's soccer team and staff will hold a youth clinic.
On Sunday, Oct. 1, against Pacific, it is Monongalia County School Day. Elementary and middle school students from schools in the county will be honored at halftime. Additionally, the first 250 fans in attendance will receive free WVU texting gloves.
West Virginia opens Mid-American Conference play on Saturday, Oct. 7, against Northern Illinois on Military and First Responder Night and Kids Club Day. All military and first responders will be admitted free with a valid I.D. As part of Kids Club Day, there will be a Mountaineer Kids Club giveaway, inflatables, balloon animals, face painting and soccer drill stations. Additionally, there will be a Touch-A-Truck event, with various first responsible vehicles on site.
The second dollar day is slated for Wednesday, Oct. 11, against Michigan State. It is also Club Sports Night, where club sports teams with the highest attendance at the match will receive a prize and points for their club. The first 100 Mountaineer Maniacs will also receive a free scarf.
Social Media Night is slated for Friday, Oct. 20, against Western Michigan. WVU jersey t-shirts will be given out to the first 100 fans in attendance. In conjunction with Social Media Night, the men's soccer social media accounts, @WVUMensSoccer on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, will be giving away prizes all week.
The Mountaineers host Penn on Tuesday, Oct. 24, on Boy Scouts Night. All Boy Scouts in attendance will receive discounted admission when wearing their badges. As part of Taco Tuesday, walking tacos will be available at the concession stand.
The home season concludes with the final dollar day, on Friday, Oct. 27, against Akron. Prior to the senior day matchup, WVU will honor hits senior class of Jad Arslan, Heath Honold, Steven James, Joey Piatczyc, Jose Santos and Louis Thomas.
WVU Soccer Scarf ticket packages are also now on sale. The package includes the official 2017 WVU soccer scarf and 10 tickets to be used at any men's or women's soccer match during the 2017 regular season.
