MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's soccer team concludes the 2017 season ranked No. 10 in the final United Soccer Coaches Poll and the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women's Division I Top 25 National Rankings.
 
The Mountaineers (16-4-3, 7-1-1) were ranked within the top 10 of both polls all year. WVU opened the season at No. 1 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, a position it held for two weeks, and reached as high as No. 3 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Rankings, which it held for three weeks.
 
WVU has not ranked outside of the top 10 of the coaches poll since the third week of the 2015 season.
 
National Champion Stanford (23-1) ranks No. 1 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. UCLA (18-3-4) is No. 2 and Duke (22-2-1) is No. 3. South Carolina (18-3-1) and Penn State (14-5-4) follow at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
 
Florida (16-7) ranks No. 6, Princeton (16-3-1) is No. 7 and North Carolina (16-3-2) is No. 8. Virginia (12-6-4) sits just ahead of the Mountaineers at No. 9.
 
WVU is one of three Big 12 Conference teams to earn a postseason ranking. Baylor (15-6-3) follows the Mountaineers at No. 11, and Texas (14-4-3) ranks No. 14.
 
The Mountaineers qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the 18th straight season and advanced to the third round for the third straight season and the sixth time in program history.
