MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men's soccer team will be the No. 4 seed at this weekend's Mid-American Conference Championship in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The Mountaineers (9-5-4, 1-2-2 MAC) will face top-seeded and No. 5-ranked Western Michigan on Friday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. ET in the second of two semifinal contests. The Broncos (15-2-1, 5-0 MAC) will host the four-team tournament after winning the league in the regular season.
In Friday's first semifinal match, second-seeded Akron (14-3-1, 4-1 MAC) will play third-seeded SIUE (7-9-1, 2-3 MAC) at 11 a.m. ET. The winner of the two semifinals will square off in the championship game on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 1 p.m. at the WMU Soccer Complex.

West Virginia earned the postseason berth thanks to a 2-1 overtime win at SIU Edwardsville on Saturday night, followed by a 1-0 win by Western Michigan over Bowling Green on Sunday morning. Coming into the weekend, WVU was in fifth place in the standings, two points behind BGSU.
In the season's first meeting between the Mountaineers and Broncos, WVU suffered a 1-0 loss in overtime on Oct. 20 at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. The Mountaineers played right with the then-eighth-ranked Broncos for more than 90 minutes before a foul was called on WVU just outside the box in overtime. On the ensuing free kick from 25 yards out, WMU scored the game winner in the 96th minute. West Virginia and Western Michigan both had five shots and two shots on goal in the contest.
