Grier Named Newcomer of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior quarterback Will Grier has been named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for the fifth time this season following his performance in a 28-23 victory at K-State on Saturday.
Grier finished the afternoon 27-of-46 for 372 yards and four touchdowns. Grier topped 300 yards passing for the ninth time this season, and now has thrown for four or more touchdowns in four games.
In the nationally rankings, Grier is No. 2 in passing touchdowns (34), No. 3 in passing yards (3,440), No. 4 in passing yards per game (344.0) and No. 7 in passing efficiency (163.5).
West Virginia returns to action on Saturday against Texas at Milan Puskar Stadium. The game is scheduled for a noon kickoff, and will be televised on ESPN.
