St. Georges Again Earns Big 12 Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Junior Bianca St. Georges of the No. 7-ranked West Virginia University women's soccer team has been named the Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

The honor is the second in as many weeks for the St. Felix de Valois, Quebec, native. WVU defenders have earned the award five times this season.

St. Georges guided the WVU backline to a strong performance in the team's 2-0 regular-season finale win at Kansas on Oct. 27. The Mountaineers held the Jayhawks to just five shots, with only two landing on-frame. WVU also denied KU a corner kick, the fifth opponent this season not to earn a set-piece opportunity against the Mountaineers.

The clean sheet was the Mountaineers' 11th of the season and fifth in Big 12 play.

Seeded No. 2, the Mountaineers (13-3-1, 7-1-1) open play at the Big 12 Conference Soccer Championship against No. 7-seed Texas Tech on Wednesday, Nov. 1, with first kick from Swope Soccer Village set for 6:30 p.m. EST.
