WVU Returns to National Rankings at No. 15

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men's soccer team has returned to the national rankings at No. 15 in this week's Soccer America Top 25.
WVU's return to the national rankings sets up a top-25 matchup on Friday night at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. The Mountaineers host No. 8 Western Michigan on Friday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. ET. Tickets are available at WVUGAME.com, 1-800-WVU GAME or on game day at the Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium ticket office.
Along with its No. 15 ranking in the Soccer America Top 25, the Mountaineers are ranked No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches Great Lakes regional poll.
The Mountaineers (7-3-4, 0-0-2 Mid-American Conference) re-enter the national rankings thanks to a 1-0 upset over No. 5 Michigan State on Oct. 11. This marks the fifth week this season West Virginia has been ranked in the top-25 in at least one national poll.
Western Michigan comes to Morgantown ranked in the top 12 in all four major polls and No. 1 in the Great Lakes region. WMU comes in as high as No. 8 in the United Soccer Coaches poll.
Friday night's top-25 contest is Social Media Night, and the team's social media accounts, @WVUMensSoccer on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, will be giving away prizes all week, while, free t-shirts will be given out at the game, with instructions on how to win posted on social media this week.
