
Grier Earns Two Big 12 Awards

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior quarterback Will Grier has been named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week and the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for his performance in a 46-35 come-from-behind victory over Texas Tech on Saturday.
Grier guided the Mountaineers to victory after trailing 35-17 in the third quarter, for the second-largest comeback in Milan Puskar Stadium history. He finished the afternoon 32-of-41 for 352 yards and five touchdowns and now ranks first nationally and in the Big 12 with 21 passing touchdowns.
This marks the third time Grier has been named Newcomer of the Week and first time being named the Offensive Player of the Week. Justin Crawford was named the Newcomer of the Week three times in 2016, the first year of the awards existence.
West Virginia returns to action on Saturday at Baylor. The game is scheduled for an 8 p.m. ET kickoff, and will be televised on FS2.
